10. Security Information
For security reasons, upon entering the Symposium venue delegates will be asked to pass their belongings through an x-ray screening machine. This could result in longer waiting times. Any unattended luggage will be removed by the security services.

A meeting of NATO Heads of State and Government will be held on Thursday 25 May 2017 in Brussels. For this reason the security in the city will be increased and you might experience some traffic problems.

Networking Symposium

Join us in the Gold Hall on Thursday 25 May, from 18.00 for the EADV Opening Plenary Lecture and the official welcome from the EADV President, Prof. Luca Borradori.

Guest lecturer Prof. Christopher Griffiths will then speak on “Can we prevent ageing?” and share his experience with you.

This will be followed by a performance from singer/songwriter La Jérôme who will hypnotise you with her own blend of soul, funk and jazz music.

Don’t miss the opportunity to make new contacts and reconnect with old colleagues during the welcome reception in the Magritte and Delvaux Foyers shortly afterwards.

IMPORTANT: Beware of accommodation scams

The Brussels Booking Desk is the only official housing company associated with the EADV. While other hotel resellers may contact you to offer accommodation for your trip, they are not endorsed by, or affiliated with the event and entering into financial agreements with such companies can have costly consequences.

BEWARE OF THE SCAMS. Please DO NOT provide them with your credit card/personal information/confirmation emails, or any details of your reservation.

Important Note to Healthcare Professionals and Non-Healthcare Professionals

In order for the EADV to be compliant with the prevailing EU Directive (2001/83/EC, article 86), Belgian legislation and the Belgian Code of Deontology for the Pharmaceutical Industry (Pharma.be, December 2013), on the advertising and promotion of prescription only medicines, the EADV will restrict access in the exhibition area and applicable industry sessions.

As a multidisciplinary audience will be attending the 14th EADV Spring Symposium in Brussels, the EADV will assign different badges to Healthcare Professionals (HCP) and NON-Healthcare Professionals (NON-HCP) to ensure compliance with the above regulations.

For the purposes of advertising of medicinal products, the Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products (FAMHP) defines Healthcare Professionals as:

Any person qualified to prescribe or deliver medicinal products, such as:

  • physicians
  • dentists
  • pharmacists
  • veterinarians

Advertising of prescription medicines is strictly prohibited to the general public and the general public is defined as those persons not qualified to prescribe or deliver medicines. Physiotherapists, nurses and pharmacy assistants are placed in the same category as the general public for the enforcement of the advertising regulation.

Industry Participants, Nurses, Students, Press, Pharmacy Assistants and Patient Organisation Representatives will not be allowed entry to the exhibition area, satellite symposia and meet-the-expert sessions, and will automatically be classified as NON-Healthcare Professionals.
